Heavenly scented Viburnum
Also heavenly scented, but a little more common Lilac
Just a few yards from the MRR, there is a hillside covered with Arrowleaf Balsam Root. Beautiful Yellow flowers. They are not CALLED sunflowers, but in fact they ARE a sunflower....as in, they follow the sun.
To get this awesome photo, I had to lie down on the ground and physically turn the flower away from the the sun to get the backlighting.
This lovely little flower I am fairly sure is Foothill Death Camas. As in, it is extremely toxic and has caused death in animals and humans (who mistakenly ate the bulbs thinking they were Camas Lilies the edible kind).

How I envy you but delight in seeing your pictures. You do everything, (except horses...never had one)..I enjoy but am physically limited from doing now... I still dabble with fragrances and beading and some quilting but those long walks in the fields to gather treasures are lost to me. I enjoyed your blog and will visit again. I live in Alabama.
It is really an adventure to open our eyes and see what is just happening around us. You are getting really good with the camera eye.
We've been hiking all over the foothills as well (training for our little hike in 2 weeks)and I have loved enjoying all the spring flowers. Especially the yellow! So bright and cheery.
I really enjoyed looking at these pictures. You are blossoming in photography! Love.
